ABOUT THE ARTIST
G.H. Rothe was born in Germany in 1935 and become known as a German-American artist. She became well known for her printmaking especially mezzotints although she created many editions of serigraphs. She created namy paintings over her lifetime and had a special talent fo ‘layering’, a technique used by painters. After living and working in Europe, she briefly traveled through South America before moving to New York City in the 1970’s, eventually moving to California. She continued to maintain a studio in New York.. She become primarily known as ’The Master f Mezzotints’. Her paintings were commissioned and handled by galleries, dealers, and private collectors in the United States, Europe and Japan.
