The Hermitage Commemorative Suite by Mihail Chemiakin consists of two (2) serigraphs printed in 80 colors on heavy Coventry rag paper. These two prints were issued to commemorate the huge exhibition for Mihail Chemiakin held in October 1995 at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. The titles are as follows:
Woman with Pomegranate (main picture)
Masquerade in St. Petersburg
Both prints are in mint condition and have not been framed, mounted nor exhibited. The image size of these gorgeous prints is 35″ X 25″ plus full margins and they are pencil signed and numbered by the artist. The sheets are 39″ X 31″. The edition size is 130 and this is a set with identical numbers 120/130 each. The typical artistic pencil signature by Chemiakin, and edition number, are located in the margin.
This is a very rare suite and it is especially difficult to obtain a set with matching numbers. List price is $7,500.00 for the two (2) pieces. A separate picture of “Masquerade in St. Petersburg” shows what the full sheets look like. Do not confuse the serigraphs of Chemiakin with his less expensive lithographs.
Chemiakin’s serigraphs are truly master works, representative of his best work in the graphic medium. While he has created well in excess of 200 editions of lithographs, he has created only 9 editions of serigraphs. His lithographs usually have 12 to 18 colors, while his serigraphs have 75 to 100 colors.
Anyone wanting to own works by Mihail Chemiakin will find his serigraphs are by far the most beautiful and valuable in the graphic medium and have very limited availability.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mihail Chemiakin is one of the foremost international artists of our time. A quote from the Robb Report (Jan. 1995) states “so great are his talents that he is one of the few artists working today who sets the standard by which all other contemporary art is measured”.
He has earned 5 honorary doctorates. The Hermitage Museum held an exhibition in Oct. 1995 of such magnitude that a 7 volume catalog was printed for it.
In the picture shown with Boris Yeltsin, Chemiakin is receiving the ‘State Prize of Russia” for Arts and Letters. President Yeltsin came to Washington DC to make this presentation to Chemiakin, not for a state visit with President Clinton.
