THE WINDMILL by Amand-Durand is a beautiful recreation of one of the most famous etchings by Rembrandt. This engraving was created by noted 19th century engraver Amand-Durand who re-created all the etchings originally created by Rembrandt. It bears the signature of Rembrandt and dated 1641 within the printing plate. The Bartsch catalog number is B 233 in the book of Rembrandt etchings.

A noted engraver of his time, Amand-Durand spent the major part of his life exactly duplicating the genius of Rembrandt onto copper plates achieving quality through his own technical genius.
